Bridal alterations; the peace, the resistance.

Who in their right mind would look at a perfectly good wedding dress and think, “I’m gonna cut that up as soon as she leaves and I can’t wait!”

1.) Someone not in their right mind.

2.) Us.

I like to think those are two different categories.

Bridal alterations are by far the most difficult, complex thing that we do but I would contend that they are also one of the most rewarding and emotional pieces we work on. Years ago, when I began to dive into bridal alterations, I was admittedly terrified. Now the range of things that we can do to make your perfect dress perfect for you is a point of pride.

I can honestly say we’ve deconstructed every single part of the wedding dress and safely put it back together. We would be hard-pressed to find something we haven’t fixed, but what keeps these dresses exciting is how different they all are and how unique the women wearing them are. No matter how many hems we pin up I’m always amazed by the beautiful human standing in front of us each time with one thousand stories that led to this moment. There are plenty of formulas and standardizations in alterations that lead to the perfect end product but there is no formula that leads to a perfect human, that’s what makes this process so special. In the end when there is one human and one dress together it will be their own version of perfect.

When it’s your time and your dress or anything else you plan to wear on that big day come see us to help make it perfect.
