Suit Tailoring Series: How To Create Welt Pockets

Welt pockets, an intricate and unique detail that can be found on many finely tailored garments.

This style of pocket may be more commonly known as ‘piped pockets’ having a slim, close fitting opening lined with two small facings around the opening, giving this style of pocket a very polished look.

This style of pocket is a well-known detail of a beautifully tailored suit, usually adorning both the front outer jacket, and the inner lining of the jacket. In this video, we are going to learn how to measure and cut universal pieces for each step of the process and then install them as we build the pocket piece by piece together.
