In part two, we’ll be covering two hot topics: the ever-important timeline and shopping preparation.

First the wedding dress timeline; the countdown to the big day and all the steps involving your wedding dress!

From the begining of your dress search, through purchasing, finding out lead times on dress shipping, alterations and getting the dress to the wedding venue on time, there are tons of important checkpoints to meet along the way.

Once we have our timeline bases covered on, we’ll hop over to Bryde, a bridal store here in Tulsa, to talk about preparation for our wedding dress shopping. The owner of Bryde gave us some tips and tricks for begining to plan our appointments to different bridals boutiques and set our expectations for the shopping process.

As we are preparing to shop and researching possible boutiques to visit we first want to consider four very important topics:

1. Distance – How far is each boutique away from you?

2. Designers – What designers does each boutique carry? Not all stores will have the same options, so you’ll want to make sure that if you have a specific designer in mind, you research who cares them.

3. Price Range – This one is important, try to very honest and set your budget up front. Going into shopping with a set budget in mind will make the process more enjoyable as it will guide you in the dresses you seek out. Everyone has a different budget and that’s perfectly fine but know what you’re before to start shopping.

4. Size Range – You’ll want to have a wide variety of dresses to try on no matter what your size. When you are researching dresses and designer, looks for styles that accommodate your unique features; tall, petite, plus, etc. and try to find those designers at the dress stores near you.

Once you’ve given each of the above topics some serious thought, we’ll move on to the experience of shopping itself.

Where to search; set a radius out from your home and explore! Maybe 10 miles is your limit or maybe you want to make a weekend of your shopping and fly to Dallas!
