Custom Project: Custom Fox Hunt Coat

For centuries now, all over the world, fox hunting has been a tradition in many regions. With this tradition, a particular style of attire was born to display position, rank, and heritage during a hunt on horseback. The main feature of the rider's uniform is the tailored frock coat, with waist seam at wearer’s hip bone, and fuller skirt.

To create a coat with such details, we began by making a pattern and creating a mock up to ensure it's fit and style.

Once the proper adjustments are made to the mock up, we began construction on the coat.

Buttons and the shape of the front corners on a frock coat inform other riders who the wearer is in the hierarchy of the hunt, so these are features and angles we pay close attention too.

After many hours and stitches, a superb fox hunter’s frock coat was brought to life.
